ബാസ്റ്റിൻ ബംഗ്ലാവ് ഫോർട്ട് കൊച്ചി BASTIN BUNGALOW FORT KOCHI

Bastion Bungalow (Bastin Bunglow) is historic Dutch monument/building located in Fort Kochi area of Kochi city. It has been declared a protected monument by the State Archaeology Department. The name Bastion Bunglow is derived from its location on the site of the Stromberg Bastion of the old Dutch fort. It is located within city limits.

Bastin Bungalow is noticeable mainly because of its Dutch style architecture and also due to the fact that it is built into the ramparts of a massive fortification wall. The Dutch captured this area later on and destroyed most of the fort. This elegant old bungalow capped is a blend of Indo-European styles of architecture with Kerala style tiled roofing and a typical wooden verandah on the façade of the first floor. One can still feel the essence of Dutch architecture and culture from the construction of the Bastion Bungalow. The museum is a treasure house of an interesting collection of objects pertaining to cultural, social and political movements that took place between 1800 and 1980. Visitors can have a look at paintings, drawings, artifacts and scriptures housed within the Bastion Bunglow.

Bastion Bungalow is open for the whole week from 10:00AM to 5:00PM
