Part 1 of Yorkshire Three Peaks race 2024 - Pen-Y-Ghent ascent.

This race is about 24 miles long with approx 6000 ft elevation. You need to qualify to be able to take part in this race. The race ascends three Yorkshire peaks: Pen-Y-Ghent (694 m), Whernside (736 m) and Ingleborough (723 m). There are 2 cut off times: 2 hours 20 mins at the foot of Whernside near Ribblehead Viaduct and 3 hours 40 minutes at the foot of Ingleborough the road crossing near Hill Inn.

The race starts from Horton in Ribblesdale and goes anticlockwise ascending Pen-Y-Ghent first, then Whernside and Ingleborough last.
