Dharamshala, 18 June 2024: A high-level US bipartisan Congressional delegation led by Representative Michael McCaul. Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and Jim McGovern among others, visited the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Dharamshala, the premiere Tibetan cultural institution in exile, where the director and artists of the institute extended a traditional Tibetan welcome to the delegation.

The artists enthralled the delegation members with their unique talent in performing Tibetan songs and dances, showcasing the rich Tibetan culture. Before the performance, Kalon Norzin Dolma, Minister for Information & International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration, delivered the welcome address. At the same time, the institute director thanked the US government for supporting the exile administration through which the distinct Tibetan culture and art form is successfully preserved at the institute.

The visit of the US high-level bipartisan Congressional delegation to the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts is yet another high for this cultural institute. The visit comes on the heels of the US Congress passing the landmark Tibet Resolve Act - a copy of which was presented by the head of the delegation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his residence earlier today.
