In this update, Tripwire has reintroduced a returning game mode from the first killing floor called Objective Mode. With this adds one new map, and two new weapons. featuring a demolitionist weapon The Seal Squeal, an explosive harpoon armed weapon. For Berserker and Medic, the Hemoclobber, a specialized club used for healing, and hitting, as well as some buffs to SWAT, and nerfs to other perks. Everything is in the change log down below.

In this run, I played the main event objective mode steam fortress with the new demo weapon The Seal Squeal. With the reintroduction to objective mode on the new map, it fairs alright compared to the other modes. Objective mode has a bit of challenge to it, but it can get repetitive with its tasks given to the player. The same tasks can get redundant quick, and most often repeat not giving a whole lot of depth to the map. The part with the gears especially I disliked. Running around without a whole lot to do made for some boring game play. Needless to say, I enjoyed everything else it had to offer. I'd like to see more of what Objective mode can do to vitalize some of their previous maps without seeming drawn out.

The Seal Squeal returns from the first game. Dealing moderate to high damage in a short duration. It fairs well as a tier 3, but it does have its set backs. It's harpoons fire with a slight downward arch, making it tricky to line up shots from a far. It doesn't help much when the harpoons travel a little slow when shot. Taking out large zeds require more prep then most demo weapons; but, in the right circumstances, it can be devastating for larges and trash alike. Its a fun weapon to use and quite rewarding once you get accustomed to it.

As for the map Steamland Fortress, it picks up right where Airship left off. It's steampunk scenery is spot on, and the map layout is easily memorable upon the few times playing. Kiting routes are open and holding out works well in most areas, but it never feels too cramped opposed to the other maps which is one of the best parts.

More videos coming soon for Objective Mode on Outpost, and ZED Landing. Thanks for watching.
