Panasonic has surprised the camera world with the announcement of the GH7, a feature-packed Micro Four Thirds camera that brings big improvements to the popular GH line.

The GH7 boasts a brand new 25.2-megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), a first for the GH series. This advanced autofocus system offers more subject detection options, including the ability to isolate specific regions of interest, such as a motorcycle helmet.

Sean Robinson from Panasonic explains, "It is a totally different sensor than what we used on the GH6, even though the pixel density is the same. For one, because of PDAF, that's a physical trait of these sensors, this is a BSI sensor, so you're gonna get the benefit of the better low light performance."
