NEW Way to Install a Mod Patch or Cheat to a Switch Game in Yuzu for Android

Yuzu for Android received an update that changed how we install mods and cheats to a Nintendo Switch game.

In today's video I'll be showing you how to install a mod, patch, or a game cheat within Yuzu for Android.

See, Late last year, the development team updated their app to include a very useful per-game setting feature. This update allows you to change specific Yuzu settings when running a specific game.

For example, you can set a specific game to play in Docked Mode or Handheld Mode without needing to change the global option that would affect every game you tried to play.

This new update also changed the way you can install a mod, a patch, or a cheat to a game that you already have loaded into your Games folder.

So while you can still install them via the original method, there's a new way this can be done and it's so much easier than before.

To begin, we need to open up the Yuzu application and view the main Games page.
Now, long-press on a game you want to install a mod or cheat for.
And from here we're going to select the Add-ons option.

You are likely already familiar with this page as this is where you go to install your game updates and DLC packages.
But this is also where you go to install a mod, patch, or cheat to a game as well.

We just need to select the Mods and Cheats option after tapping on the floating action button that is labeled Install.
As of right now, you will need to extract the mod or cheat that you have downloaded
But I have read that the development team is working on letting you install these by selecting the ZIP file instead

We just need to wait for that update before this is allowed, though.
For now, we are only able to select entire directories. So you'll want to extract the mod or cheat you have downloaded and then choose the folder that you decompressed.

And that's all there is to it. There's no need to find the game folder code and manually transfer the folder anymore.
This can all be done within the per-game settings page itself and is a much welcomed addition to the app.
