Описание к видео Denon DL-103R playing: Don Grusin - Classical September 18, 2019

This song is recorded from the LP "Out of thin Air" by the pianist Don Grusin.
The master was recorded and mastered at the new recording studio Octave Records that was established by Paul McGowan from PS Audio and aims at providing us with audiophile quality records to bring us closer to the music.
More info on the release can be found here:

The cartridge is a Denon DL-103R, which is an improved version of the classic DL-103 moving coil cartridge with a nude conical stylus on a tapered aluminium cantilever.
The audio recorded by the microphone is replaced by a recording using the same setup and an Asus Essence STX II soundcard.
While YouTube isn't the best place to preview sound quality, it'll be good enough to get an impression of the characteristic sound and looks of the setup.

It's used in combination with a SPL Phonos pre-amp.
The sound is very neutral and the cartridge reproduces the dimentionality of the sound very well.
Especially when playing this record directly to the speakers, it's like there's a piano in the room.
Some of that dimensionality/depth is still left after YouTube compression.
For this recording I've set the load resistance on 470ohms.
I've kept the other settings at default recommended (2.5 grams VTF, 2.5 Anti-skating and VTA parallel to record surface).

Recording setup:
Cartridge: Denon DL-103R
Headshell: Jelco HS-25
Turntable: Technics SL-1200G + KAB TD-1000
Phono preamp: SPL Phonos
Recording soundcard (PCIe): Asus Essence STX II
Soundcard dedicated PSU: Seasonic Platinum Series V2
Cables: Mogami 2964, AudioQuest Saturn
Recording software: Sound Forge Audio Studio 12
