Please visit us at: http://botanyboy.org/ Tenmangu Shrine in Dazaifu, Japan on the island of Kyushu is home to a lovely Japanese iris flower garden. A large iris pool (2,500 square meters) is home to 55 different varieties of Iris enstata, known as hanashoubu in Japan, with an estimated total of 30,000 flowering stems! In the Japanese system 4 major groups are seen at this garden: the Higo group from Kumamoto, the Edo group from Tokyo, the Ise group from Mie, and the Nagai group from Nagai, Yamagata. The pool is also home to a variety of hydrangeas, koi carp, and turtles. Come along and check out another wonderful Japanese flower garden.
