Paxton’s Tower is a beautiful structure overlooking the Towy Valley in Llanarthney on the River Tywi valley in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Visitors can admire the incredible view on the hill as well as from the first floor when open. Perfectly situated to admire the setting sun, it is an ideal, romantic destination.
There is a carpark nearby and a lodge.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales are also located nearby, which makes for a great combination during a day out.

---- Short History ----
The tower was built by Sir William Paxton (1745-1824) in honour of Lord Nelson.
A Neo-Gothic folly, it was built between 1806 - 1809.
Paxton may have met Nelson in person and was probably inspired by his death at Trafalgar.
The tower may have been used for banquets, however there is no apparent kitchen making that difficult.
