Target Tones [Part Two]

Описание к видео Target Tones [Part Two]

Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Brewster's Millions Of Rants with Part Two of Target Tones. It was about two years ago when I created the first Target Tones episode, and that lesson is also related to another video from four years ago called The Power Of One Note. All of these videos/lessons are related to by book Target Tones from Centerstream Publications (2017), and this lesson takes this concept and ideas a little further - so let's dive in!

This lesson revolves around the key of D minor (the saddest of all keys), and once we've selected the key/chord/scale, we're playing around with a sample melodic motif (a.k.a. phrase) that we're variating, mutating, and reworking to create and imply different sounds, chords, chord progressions, and tonalities.

This is very important and commonly overlooked, as taking a single melodic phrase and then reworking it to match various chord progressions and ideas is paramount in helping you understand how to write your own music and create original-sounding licks, phrases, and ideas.
