TRAGIC DETAILS ABOUT NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER SAMSON SIASIA

When Siasia finally hung his boot in the year 2000, he had several caps to his name including African Nations Cup Bronze Medal and FIFA World Cup. Due to his contribution towards sports development in Nigeria, Samson Siasia was honoured in November 2009 when the main field at Yenagoa Township Stadium was named after him.
Sadly, despite Siasia’s impressive football profile, FIFA accused him of match-fixing and imposed a life ban on all his football-related activities at both national and international level. Siasia was abandoned and alone, crying out he said the ban was career-destroying and stopped him from earning a living from football.
