The former work and pensions secretary, Amber Rudd, has quit the Conservative Party and the Cabinet.

She cited the 'purge' of so-called rebels, after they voted against the Government, as one of the reasons behind the decision.

But Ms Rudd said the Government is overwhelming preparing for a no-deal Brexit and not spending enough time working on a deal.
