Walking a Small Village by Wetlands and Farms | Omihachiman, Japan 4K Rural Ambience

We start today's walk in late afternoon, outside the small village of Maruyama in Omihachiman, Japan. We walk a dirt road along a small lake, before starting the long straight walk through the unplanted fields to the village. It is a quiet village, with classic Shiga rural charm. Some of the houses have long reeds from the nearby wetlands in large bundles leaning against them. We visit a small shrine overlooking the village and the surrounding landscape.

The village sits beside the wetlands of Lake Sainoko, a small lake connected to Lake Biwa, and is about a 10 minute drive to the main town center of Omihachiman.
