Calamari Inkantation (Remix) - Splatoon

Soooooooo... How long has it been now? About 3 weeks now...? Well, I'm back! With another remix from Splatoon, officially known as 'Calamari Inkantation!

This song struck me out as amazing when I first heard it during story mode. It was such a surprise and really represents the music I love, mainly due to its Japanese-like vocals and the pentatonic scale that's used for the melody. It was also shocking for me because I thought Nintendo was really going all out with its soundtrack, having so many different genres in it. Splatoon is amazing!

In regards to the remix, it may sound familiar to one of my previous remixes, 'Truth Seeker', as it has most of the same instruments, bassline and rhythms. Originally, I went with the obvious feel of electro/techno pop (remnants of that can be heard in the final section of the remix) but I went around the net and found too many remixes with the same stuff going on. Then, I thought of making a traditional Japanese 'remix' of this track, because of the great melodies that hint at Nintendo's home. But, that didn't really work out and so, I decided to go with an acoustic-ish feel, changed up the chord progression, accompaniments, and bassline (parts of the original bassline can be heard in the bell parts). I also added in the reference to DJ Octavio as well.

So, you guys probably need an explanation for my absence. A few weeks ago, my laptop screen broke and I had to send it in for repair. It still hasn't come back. That's when I decided to just work with my desktop at home, and finally the remix has come together. Thanks guys, for bearing with me! Hopefully I get my laptop back this week and return to my one-remix-a-week schedule! We just hit 400 subs yesterday and maybe I'll think of something special next week!
