Do have kids and wonder if it is worth it to take them to an amusement park? Theme parks can be quite a challenge with children, but we are here to help you plan out the perfect day at a park!

In this video, we visited the NEWLY remodeled and transformed Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark and Resort at Cedar Point‪@CedarPointVideos‬. Upon entering, we were transported to the Caribbean!! We fell in love with the bright and cheery theming, friendly staff and activities.

We explored the resort and played with the interactive ship in the lobby. They constantly had new games, stories and activities going on in the lobby that we absolutely adored. This was fantastic for kids and kept them entertained all day long. This gave us major cruise vibes!! Castaway Bay also has a variety of animal characters: Gordy the Turtle, Flo the Flamingo, Hank the Monkey and more! We got to know them over the course of our trip and Ana loved to give them hugs!!

In the lobby you will also find Flo’s Surf Shop where you can find a large variety of souvenirs and all the essential items you may need for the duration of your vacation. We saw name brands like Roxy and Quicksilver being featured. They also had snacks, drinks and grab and go meals available.
If you are looking for some morning coffee and a quick breakfast, Rocket’s Market has what you need! They had delicious looking donuts and snacks to help you get through the day. They featured Starbucks coffee among a large selection of beverages. If you are looking for a larger breakfast, the High Tide Cafe is the place to go! Just walking by gave us happy vibes! This buffet style breakfast had a little bit of everything for everyone. And keep your eyes open - characters sometimes stop by to say hello!

If you need a quick sweet treat, the Sprinkle Shack has ice cream that you can add a variety of toppings to. It was the perfect way to cool off on a hot day!

The Quaker Steak and Lube is connected to Castaway Bay so it is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. They are known for their wings and have phenomenal alcoholic beverages. We loved how the bar opened up to the dock and boats could pull right up. It was such a fun experience!

Now let’s get to the main attraction- the waterpark!! This place was packed with all sorts of slides, pools, splash pads and more. It truly had something for everyone. We had a great time in the large spa, on the aqua coaster and in the wave pool. We appreciated that the waterpark wasn’t too large as it made it easy to navigate and keep an eye on little ones.

Our room had an adorable theme that featured Isabella the Iguana and Hank the Monkey. They were so cute! We enjoyed the updates that had been made throughout the room and found it quite comfortable. We really loved the option for a sleeper chair so no one had to share a bed!

The Gamer’s Grotto had everything you could need from an arcade! Ana had a fantastic time playing with all the games and winning tickets. There were plenty of games that were appropriate for younger kids and she even won a claw machine game! This was one of her favorite parts of the resort.

We kept finding ourselves venturing back to the lobby for games and activities with the resort’s entertainment staff. In the evening they had a super fun dance party! We also fell in love with the LIVE steel drum band Verb Pan Trio ‪@verbpantrio9560‬. They were amazing and helped make us feel like we were in a tropical paradise!! We enjoyed sitting and listening to them any chance we could. Ana loved to dance especially as they played some kid friendly tunes like Baby Shark!

Overall, we had a fabulous time at Castaway Bay!! Ana now asks almost daily when we can go back. We certainly did not feel like we were in Ohio, but somewhere much more tropical. We cannot wait to book another trip!
