Do have kids and wonder if it is worth it to take them to an indoor water park resort? Water park resorts can be quite a challenge with children, but we are here to help you plan out the perfect day at a park!

In this video, we compare and contrast Kalahari and Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay in Sandusky, Ohio. We want you to be able to know where the best place to stay is for you and your family!

Depending on what your family enjoys most and wants to do, it can be hard to decide what will be the best fit for you. If ‪@CedarPointVideos‬ is a main attraction for you, then we recommend staying at Castaway Bay so you can enjoy all the perks and benefits of staying at a Cedar Point resort. Receive early park entry and a short drive to the amusement park. If you plan on staying at a resort for the majority of your stay, then Kalahari may be the resort for you. They have so many amenities and attractions, that you are sure to stay busy!

When it comes to food and restaurant options, we have a clear winner. Kalahari really offers a higher quality of food and a larger variety as well. This is great especially if you plan to stay for an extended period of time. You also can reserve rooms with kitchenettes to help cut down on your expenses. However, Castaway Bay does still have great options to choose from. We really enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast buffet and the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant. Plus if you want to venture away from the resort, you can always take a quick drive to Cedar Point or Kalahari for a bite to eat.
When it comes to the waterpark itself, Castaway Bay has a little bit for everyone! The smaller park makes it easy to keep track of everyone and ensure that the whole family has a great time. They have everything you need from a splash pad to an aqua-coaster. It is a blast! Kalahari on the other hand, has a large indoor waterpark with tons of attractions. They truly have something for the entire family, but it is much harder to keep an eye on everyone and may become overwhelming.

Kalahari offers many extra amenities like the arcade, which features all sorts of entertainment. So when your family is tired of swimming, they can keep the fun going with mirror mazes and more. The adults can also go to the spa for a relaxing or romantic getaway. Castaway Bay just recently opened up their brand new Castaway Play. This area features mini bowling, glow in the dark mini golf, an escape room and an arcade. We spent hours playing all sorts of games and having a great time!

When it comes to overall ambience, Castaway Bay offers a relaxing tropical getaway vibe. This is sure to create a calm, fresh and peaceful atmosphere. Kalahari encases you into an African safari with elephants and other animals welcoming you. The atmosphere is exciting and swiftly takes you out of reality.

We really enjoyed both resorts for different reasons! Depending on the vacation you are looking for, we hope you can make the best choice!
