Trooper's Summary:

Genesee County Dispatch aired a road rage incident where a blue Silverado (MI/EFV5533) ran another vehicle off the roadway. The suspect/driver was identified by the 911 caller/victim as Eddie Simmons. I immediately located the suspect vehicle near Davison and Arlington and attempted a traffic stop. Eddie did not stop, and I initiated a vehicle pursuit. I terminated my pursuit of Eddie after approximately two miles due to Eddie’s excessive speed and reckless driving (over 100 MPH in the wrong lane of travel). Tpr Haenlein and Tpr Botos located Eddie’s vehicle parked approximately one hour later. As Troopers watched the residence, Eddie entered a different vehicle and left. A second traffic stop was attempted which led to a second vehicle pursuit of Eddie. Eddie was pursued for several more miles, this time in a different suspect vehicle, by me (Sgt Duttlinger), Tpr Haenlein, Tpr Botos, and Tpr Maples. Eventually, Tpr Haenlein performed a precision immobilization technique (PIT) on Eddie’s vehicle which resulted in Eddie crashing and disabling the fleeing vehicle. Eddie was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit with pursuing Troopers. Eddie was lodged at the Genesee County Jail (GCJ) for multiple felony offenses. Eddie’s vehicle was towed by Louie’s Towing. A K9 track was attempted by Tpr McGuckin but Troopers could not locate the passenger in Eddie’s vehicle who also ran on foot from the crash scene. This complaint is open pending further supplemental reports.
