Great North Run Weekend 2024 | 5K Event Footage

Kicking off the 2024 Great North Run weekend, the Great North 5K takes place on the banks of the River Tyne. An evening event two days before a half marathon, with a few thousand fellow runners, what could go wrong?

Thankfully not an awful lot! But as the unofficial start to a festival of running in the north east of England, this is a canny little route on both sides of the river with a lot of noise at the finish.
