The 1987 Candlepin Bowling Championship show was the second and also the last one to be broadcasted from the same place that the regular day time show aired, at the Fairway Lanes in Natick. This was also one of the most exciting championship shows altogether as well, not because of high scores, but because of lots of bonus money being given away, and certain matches going right down to the wire, especially with the Championship match.

The top five bowlers that made it to this telecast after having the best scores from the 1986-1987 season of the show itself were: Dick O'Connell, Tom Olszta, Peter Flynn, Dan Lasko, and Joe Tavernese.
