The New Fighting Game Golden Age does not include 3D Fighters

Its a great time for Fighting Games. A renaissance, a new golden age, good times good vibes all around. Well... for 2D fighters anyway. 2d fighters you are spoiled for choice, street fighter, mortal kombat, guilty gear, granblue, lots of upcoming games like Fatal Fury city of the wolves or 2xko or just lots of stuff really. 3D fighters? Hope you like Tekken 8 buddy! Cause if not, there is no virtua fighter, no dead or alive, no soul calibur for you to switch over too cause they are all 6 feet under right now. How did we get to this pooint, and is there any hope for the future?
