Come NASCE e che cos’è la COSCIENZA? Le risposte delle neuroscienze

Come fa la coscienza a nascere dalla materia non cosciente? Questo è uno dei grandi interrogativi della neuroscienza.
Ma per indagare questo punto occorre iniziare dall'inizio, ovvero chiedendosi: che cosa è la coscienza? cosa significa che un essere è cosciente? una delle definizioni più famose risale ad un paper del filosofo Thomas Nagel intitolato “come è essere un pipistrello?”, si tratta di un articolo del ‘74, ma offre una definizione tutt’ora usata in neuroscienza.

Che cosa significa che un essere è senziente? Gli animali sono coscienti?
