It is Episode 29 of the Gutter Rose Quarantine Concert Series and after months and months of requests, JD, the Master of the Telecaster and Sultan of Southern Maryland, has finally returned to the spotlight to sing lead on "I Hear You Knocking".

Written by Dave Bartholomew, the song "I Hear You Knocking" was originally recorded in 1955 by Smiley Lewis and tells the story of a former lover who returns and is turned away by the singer.

In 1970, Welsh singer and guitarist Dave Edmunds recorded the song with a more guitar heavy approach. The song was a #1 hit for Edmunds in the UK and a top 10 hit in multiple other countries as well. The song was later included on his first full length album, "Rockpile"
