Jagjit Singh - Shaam-e-Firaaq Ab Na Poochh - Faiz Ahmed Faiz Centenary Celebrations

Faiz Ahmed Faiz, who was born on Feb 13, 1911, was respected equally on either side on the border. His poetry spoke of romance and revolution.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz Centenary Celebrations were organised by Routes2 Roots NGO, All India Progressive Writers Association along with Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil inaugurated them in Vigyan Bhavan on 25th February 2011 and it was followed by a concert in Siri Fort Auditorium Delhi where Tina sani from Pakistan and Jagjit Singh come forward on one platform and relived the era of the legend Faiz Ahmed Faiz. This was then further taken to Lucknow on 2nd March 2011 in Sant GadgeJi Maharaj Auditorium and Hyderabad on 5th March in Chomahalla Palace. A a symposium and mushaira were also organised at FICCI auditorium on February 26, 2011.
