MVFR Approach Turns to Low IFR | Cirrus SR22 | Flying in the Mountains

Описание к видео MVFR Approach Turns to Low IFR | Cirrus SR22 | Flying in the Mountains

What was supposed to be a simple MVFR ILS Approach, turns to low IFR.

In no way am I saying these conditions are good but the GoPro makes the visibility look much lower than it was.

Weather was calling for MVFR all day, no snow, nothing. After being cleared direct to RSK to join the ILS 25 approach, the weather dropped to 3/4 mile visibility and light snow. After breaking out at minimums, I determined visibility was greater than a mile. (I could see the end of the 6,700' runway). My comment of having the de-ice on max was not because we needed it but as a precaution. We ended up not picking any icing up during our descent or landing.

The Cirrus is a very capable aircraft and I did this approach because I felt comfortable with the aircraft, weather conditions and myself as PIC.
