This is Lecture 6 of antenna parameters series and describes about the maximum effective aperture and vector effective length of the antenna. Initially, the derivation of relation between maximum effective area and maximum directivity is calculated and subsequently generalized effective aperture against gain or directivity relation is derived while including polarization loss factor and efficiencies. Further, the vector effective length for any kind of antenna as a receiving antenna is discussed. Finally, one problem based on maximum effective aperture is investigated and some are given to test yourself.
