What Is Functional Training for HUMANS?

Описание к видео What Is Functional Training for HUMANS?

All of our muscles are interconnected. This means that when you begin to engage one muscle it tugs and pulls on surrounding muscles. This continues to happen in a cascading effect throughout your entire body like one train car pulling on the next. It's how we actually move through space. Our bodies use myofascial chains to produce force and strength.

Those who fail to understand this will look at our FP exercises as if they don't build strength. While clients all over the world rant and rave about the improved force production they have achieved after understanding how to connect their entire bodies to produce movement.

Keep in mind that @_shannonhegarty in the video was a professional rugby player for many years, so he definitely knows the difference between fake and real strength. It's kind of like having a 100 vs 1 person tug of war. When you isolate and work one muscle it doesn't necessarily mean it will translate into connecting others with it. This is why you'll often see big meat head types of humans that are able to deadlift a lot of weight but struggle to connect their bodies enough to produce a lot of force. You will often see that they can't sprint fast and kick or punch as hard more athletically connected humans.

This is where the term "Farmer's Strength" comes into play. Farm workers need to connect their entire bodies to move heavy objects not just up and down but left and right and from place to place.

If you want to be strong in all aspects of life for the long haul, don't isolate your body. Integrate it.
