An End To Summer

Описание к видео An End To Summer

I’ve just completed my first day of being back at school.

This may not be my best work, but I wrote this (kind of unsurprisingly) yesterday when the stress about the end of summer vacation kicked in and I thought it was a fun documentation of this oddly specific emotion that is so common. This year in particular I’ve been longing for a summer full of memories, and now the time is up.
Have I done enough? Is it ever enough?

So yeah, this is a song about putting an end to summer.

Lyrics:

I’m so sentimental
for right now
The good-things’ ending
is always on time

The geese, I hear them flying past
Towards warmer seas

An ode to trying to make something great
A movie-summer, a trick of fate
The end of an era, the beginning of time
As I sit and write
Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all
As I walk towards night
Maybe it’s time for me to make a call

I’ve packed my bags
with a noting on change
I know it’s silly
the way it always ends the same

But there’s so much colour
And this year I promise
To appreciate and hope to
Never go completely blin with loneliness

The geese I hear the flying past
Towards warmer seas

An ode to trying to make something great
A movie-summer, a trick of fate
The end of an era, the beginning of time
As I sit and write
Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all
As I walk towards night
Maybe it’s time for me to make a call

The last time I’ll get to be a summer-child
But I’ve got half a year to catch up on life
So when I sign away this time
I say goodbye to summer
And look towards a good life

[this part is kinda weird, idk, it happened]
a good life
a good life
Put an end to summer
and a good life
Something’s always on the horizon
(Ohh)
