Is It Better to Run Display Ads or Search Ads?

In this episode of Digital Marketing 101, we're talking about Display Ads and Search Ads. What is the difference between them, and which one is better for your business? Let's dive in!

Display ads are little banner ad units that users see throughout different websites. Google Display Ads allow you to reach massive audiences and it’s really low-cost. You only pay for your ad when someone clicks on it. However, the downside of Display Ads is that there’s low intent as well. Most people use AdBlockers or ignore those ads whatsoever.

Search Ads are the ones that show up in Google when users type in some search query. They are high intent and people typically click on them very often since they can’t tell the difference between the organic search result and Google Search Ads.

There will always be more searches than your budget allows. So if I were to generate leads on a limited budget, I would put all of it into the Search Ads. But if I were to increase brand awareness, I would prefer Display Ads as they can do a great job from a branding perspective.
