ORIENT EXPRESS: Mythos & Wahrheit - rostige Relikte eines Luxuszuges VANDALISMUS PUR 🔎 Lost Place

Die Lost Place Tapes machen einen kurzen Abstecher zum sogenannten Orient Express, einem Zug aus den 1930er Jahren, damals der ganze Stolz der belgischen Eisenbahn. Dieser hat allerdings NICHTS mit dem legendären echten Orient Express zu tun. Ein Fotograf gab ihm einfach diesen Namen aufgrund seiner luxuriösen Ausstattung. Das war aber auch irgendwie der Anfang vom Ende – denn JEDER wollte den angeblichen Luxuszug sehen. Heute steht er zusammen mit zwei Waggons auf einem Abstellgleis. Wind und Regen setzen ihm zu, aber es sind die Vandalen, die ihn vor allem in jüngster Zeit regelrecht zerlegt haben.

So bleibt leider nicht mehr viel übrig von einem Mythos, der einen langsamen aber sicheren Tod stirbt …

The Lost Place Tapes make a short detour to the so-called Orient Express, a train from the 1930s, back then the pride of the Belgian railway. However, it has NOTHING to do with the legendary genuine Orient Express. A photographer simply gave him that name because of its luxurious features. But somehow that was the beginning of the end - because EVERYONE wanted to see the alleged luxury train. Today it is standing on a holding track with two carriages. Wind and rain are taking their toll on it, but it's the vandals who have literally stripped t down - especially in recent times.

Unfortunately there is not much left of a myth that is dying a slow but certain death ...
