"Why Do I Find My Wife So Annoying?" | Paul Friedman

Annoyance is like modified anger and we become annoyed with somebody when we're mad at them. There's a formula for anger. When we don't get our way, we become angry. It's literally the only reason for anger unless you're using it like in a battle or something. But in this case, that's not what's going on. You're finding your wife annoying. What is she not delivering for you? I don't care. You cannot carry expectations into your marriage and expect them to be fulfilled other than the expectations that you put on yourself to learn to behave in a marriage-friendly way towards your wife and in a way that is demonstrating love, constant and outpouring of love all the time. And guess what, if you do that and you drop the expectations that are hidden right behind that question, you'll see changes in her that will be better than what you think you expect her to be doing for you now. This is the real deal. In one of the comments, someone put red pill and it's the truth. I talk about the truth about marriage, about you as an individual, about your spouse as an individual but anyone who wants an improvement in their marriage has to begin with themselves. If you don't begin with yourself, you're being completely unfair, unreasonable and you will remain unfulfilled and that's the truth. So, why is my wife so annoying to me? Because you're not dealing with your own stuff, the mind is a tool that we have until you control it which means as well, the filters that define her behaviors towards you. You're not going to be happy and that's almost lesson one in marriage.
