Hello. My name is Doctor Dan Albright. I'm an orthopedic surgeon in Raleigh, North Carolina with the Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic. I've been there 21 years and I specialize in hip and knee replacement surgery and arthritis surgery.

My purpose today is to go over recent advances in knee replacement operations. My message may end up being little bit unexpected by that what I mean is the technology is great. It's been proven over decades of use and the materials do improve every five to 10 years, but there's no one magic round knee, or
female knee. Be a little careful of the market hype.

What you want is a knee replacement that's tried-and-true. It's got a good track record over decades. And that's what you want with a mainstream company and that's about it.

Ask your doctor what knee is used. As long as it's from a mainstream American or multinational company you can't go wrong. These implants work. The plastic get a little better every
year, but it's incremental. So you can have confidence if you get a knee from any one of the major manufactures, you're going to do well. What matters is that it's put it well. Put in safely. Put in efficiently.
