With the earlier and faster-than-expected departure from the Zero-COVID policy in December 2022, China re-opened with a literal bang in the stock market. China’s sudden major policy pivot led to one of the best performing three-month periods on record. From November 2022 to January 2023, the MSCI China Index rallied an amazing 60%.

However, over the last few months, this amazing rally stalled somewhat as China’s reopening may not have delivered the explosive and immediate growth that some overly-optimistic segments of investors may have hoped.

In this presentation, Mr Tan Jee Toon, CFA, Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific Equities, RHB Asset Management Singapore, will reiterate RHBAM's bullish views on China and the key rationale for their positivity as China reopens and recovers in 2023.
