Sky News host Rita Panahi says singer Elton John has refused to accept a “free kick” from Variety Magazine to “bash” former US president Donald Trump during an interview.

“He was asked his reaction to President Trump liking his music and calling North Korea dictator Kim Jong Un a little rocket man,” Ms Panahi said.

“The interviewer wanted a viral moment, he didn’t get it, Elton said it was brilliant.”

Ms Panahi was joined by ‘To Di For’ podcast host Kinsey Schofield to discuss Mr John dodging the question about the former US president.
