Friends Of Rufus - Face In The Mountain

Описание к видео Friends Of Rufus - Face In The Mountain

From their 2003 self-titled album.

The group began in the early 1990's, shortly after the passing of Rufus Guinchard (1899 - 1990). They were based out of Corner Brook, which is also where Rufus spent his final days according to The Canadian Encyclopedia.

This song was written by Carl White, and is in reference to a landmark near Corner Brook. "The Face In The Mountain" is now fairly eroded and more difficult to make out than it once was. It can be seen from the highway as you drive from east to west towards the small city.

This song also appears on The Bay Boys' 1996 album "Down Home Favourites - Vol. 2", titled as "Face Upon The Mountain".

On this track were Reg Brown, Pat Hynes, Denny Solo, Clyde Way, and Mel Way. Two additional members of Friends Of Rufus, specifically, Cleve Best & Walter Devoe, might have also been on this track, though the album liner notes are a bit ambiguous for this.
