Authentic Classic Peranakan Cuisine in Singapore | Nyonya House by Rempahs (Closed Permanently)

With more than 40 years of experience cooking Peranakan dishes, Aunty Alice's mastery is apparent in the classic, homely cuisines offered on her menu. Pursuing her passion of as the founder of Nyonya House, she offers authentic signature cuisines like Babi Pongteh, Ayam Buah Keluak, Curry Chicken, Assam Prawns, and more. Babi Pongteh is cooked with sugarcane that gives it a natural mild sweetness. Babi Pongteh pork is so well braised and soft that it almost melts in the mouth! Meanwhile, Ayam Buah Keluak goes through a time consuming preparation and cooking process. Just the Buah Keluak nuts alone take days to prepare. But nevertheless, the result is a tasty dish of tender chicken infused with the earthy flavours of the Buah Keluak pulp.

Alice's homemade Rempah (spice paste) is the soul of her several cuisines. Rich and full of layered flavours, they are marvellous concoctions of many spices and herbs such as lemongrass, candlenut, dried chilli, etc.

Bento sets, affordably priced at $6.80, are also offered. Each set comes with meat and greens. You can have your flavoured choices like Babi Pongteh, Assam Pedas Fish, Rendang Chicken, etc. The quality of the dishes here will never fail to amaze!

Saturday 8.30am to 4 pm. Tok Panjang from 7pm.
