With the Magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck near Kaikoura on New Zealand’s South Island just after midnight on 14th November 2016, much of the Main North railway and Highway 1 along the Pacific Coast has been severely damaged.
The scenes in this video feature ‘Northern’ Ka942, ‘Mountain’ Ja1240 and heritage diesel-electrics Dg772 and Dj1209 passing through this picturesque Kaikoura Coast and Marlborough region between Picton and Christchurch, much of which will forever be changed.
