Pottery Techniques: Closing In A Volume On The Potters Wheel

Описание к видео Pottery Techniques: Closing In A Volume On The Potters Wheel

In this instructional pottery video I will demonstrate a wheel throwing technique that is essential for making volumes or spherical/ovoid shapes. This technique is done without the use of water. This is achieved by using a very small area of contact on the edge of the first finger of the right hand on the outside of the wall supported by the middle finger of the left hand on the inside of the wall. Making these types of shapes is especially useful for throwing in sections, for instance the piece I demonstrate here would be a great bottom section of a vase with a tall added neck.
