Day 4 of solo hiking the Coast to Coast, I left Chapel House Farm & discussed what happened early that morning with a disturbing person, not wanting to dwell too much on it, but I needed to get it off my chest.

I carried on with my day as I would, wanting to appreciate where I was; my favourite section of the Lakes, or the country for that matter.

I left Borrowdale for Grasmere, both stunning places in their own right, albeit with a hellish climb between the two... Lining Crag.

In the intense heat of the late May heatwave, I ascended the steep, rock face of the dreaded crag using both hands to pull myself up onto the jagged rock with my 17kg backpack making the effort absolutely gruelling.

Once on top, I thought one peak wasn't enough and I was already up high in the fells, so I continued up three more fells, the Wainwrights; Calf Crag, Gibson Knott & Helm Crag, before finally descending into Grasmere.

Once in the stunning village (aka my actual favourite place on the planet) and near the point of total exhaustion, I decided to treat myself to a lovely room at the Lake View Country House & a delicious meal at The Good Sport. It was exactly what I needed after a tough day, and would end up being one of my favourite days on the whole trail!
