Leaving the US at 17 (off to Germany!) | cbyx

hello! I left the US at 17 to live in Germany for an exchange year with the CBYX program. As an American going to German high school (gymnasium), and attempting to speak German all the time, every day is an adventure. These were my last days before leaving the US, and the (chaotic) flight from Washington D.C. to Frankfrut to Hamburg.
Also, funny story, apparently a few other people in my group said that their first impression of me was when I was sitting in Frankfurt airport, with the pink Hello Kitty facecare mask on. What an impression to make, am I right?
