I Welcome to My Porch BBQ! In the video, I transform a Oklahoma Joe Highland smoker into the Ultimate Oklahoma Joe. I did all of the work in my driveway and didn't have any professional training or expensive tools. I know my welds may not be perfect, but I'm proud of what I accomplished and hope to inspire others to try it out for themselves!

Throughout the video, you'll see how I took all the feedback from my first attempt and made significant improvements to the final result. I made changes to the smoke collector, door size, "Chud Latch", and even added sun guards to the thermometers.

Modification made:

Welded the firebox into one piece and weld it to the cook chamber.

Added a 5-inch tall smoker collector and a 4-inch diameter x 29-inch stack. Both mods are seven gauge (3/16). Together the stack and collector equal the length of the cook chamber.

Increased the size of the firebox door and add a “Chud” latch to control the airflow.

Added the cook chamber baffle from the firebox.

Added a removable pull handle to move the smoker.

To finish it off I add my own badge and thermometer guards to complete the look.

If you are thinking about modifying your own smoker then i hope this video gives you some ideas of what you liked and what you would not do on your own smoker.

Remember it's your smoker - don't worry about the critics.
