Welcome to My Porch BBQ! In this video, we'll be taking a look at the first part of a smoker restoration project. I recently purchased an old backyard smoker for $125, and it's in pretty rough shape. My goal is to restore it to its former glory by adding a stack and collector, expanding the firebox door, adding thermometer guards, painting it and even selling it if all goes well. Who knows, maybe I'll even cook a delicious chuck roast on it!

But here's the thing, I'm not the most skilled welder and my tools are all pretty cheap. To make matters worse, I don't even have a proper workshop. So, I'm doing all of this in my driveway. It's not ideal, but I'm determined to make it work.

The video is quite long, so I've split it into two parts. This first part will cover the initial steps in the restoration process. Thanks for tuning in, and I hope you enjoy watching the progress!
