Video Summary:
This video is on carbon dioxide dissociation curve. Similar to what we have in oxygen hemoglobin dissociation curve, this curve shows relationship between partial pressure of carbon dioxide and it's total content in blood. As partial pressure of carbon dioxide increases its total content in blood also increases. At peripheral sites partial pressure is 46 mmHg. At this point carbon dioxide content of blood is 52 ml carbon dioxide in each 100 ml blood. At lungs partial pressure of carbon dioxide is about 40 mmHg. At this pressure level carbon dioxide content falls to 50 mmHg. Haldane's effect causes further reduction to about 48 mmHg. Thus about 4 ml carbon dioxide is cleaned by each 100 ml blood.
