The NET Bible Large Print Thinline

Описание к видео The NET Bible Large Print Thinline

A review of Thomas Nelson's NET Bible Large Print Thinline (ISBN 9780785253501). This Bible features the text of the New English Translation (NET). It does not include the NET Bible's extensive text and translation notes, which are available online.

The text is printed in an attractive 10.5 pt font laid out in two columns, arranged in paragraphs. The words of Christ are printed in black ink. A few text and translation notes are placed in an approximately 8 pt font at the bottom of many pages. These notes also provide the Old Testament sources for quotations and allusions that appear in the New Testament.

The paper is somewhat opaque, and show-through (ghosting) is mitigated through the use of line matching. I estimate the paper weight at 32 grams per square meter (gsm).

The NET Bible is relatively easy to read and is neither overly formal nor informal. The Old Testament strays from the Masoretic Hebrew, but not as often as the New Revised Standard Version. The New Testament agrees with Nestle-Aland's 28th edition more often than most translations.

The Bible's thinline footprint makes it easy to pack in a briefcase or backpack.

The NET Bible should not be confused with the New English Translation of the Septuagint (NETS).

My thanks to Thomas Nelson for providing this review copy.
