Esaan HAPPY MEAL 🐓🌶🍗 and Thai Cambodia KHMER Castle 🏰 (เขาพนมรุ้ง) in Buriram, Thailand

Within sight of the Cambodian border this morning, we are exploring the amazing ancient temple complex of 'Khao Panom Rung.' Hundreds of years ago, this was one of many areas in Thailand that saw frequent change in terms of governance - it is wonderful to have such an example of history and time preserved here in Buriram.

Well worth the visit if you are anywhere in South Esaan, this a unique view of culture dating back to the Khmer Empire (approx. 800 years ago). Walking up the huge amounts of beautiful hand carved steps, this entire complex is built atop a dormant volcano! Just adding to the excitement...

Of course, climbing all these stairs will work up an appetite, so don't forget to have the most tasty local combo meal pretty much immediately upon departure.
