Introducing Ergo Build (patent pending) Mixed-SKU Pallet Building

Boost Layer Pick Productivity & Safety

How do you most efficiently build a rainbow? That’s not the beginning of a riddle; it’s serious business, and the answer is simple --with Ergo Build & Pallet Flow.

Ergo Build is our newest pallet separator. It’s designed to work in conjunction with pallet flow-fed layer picking for mixed-SKU pallet building. With Ergo Build and pallet flow, you create the perfect layer pick application to support continuous operations and boost productivity.

New Ergo Build Takes Your Layer Pick to the Next Level

Ergo Build Delivers:

Increased mixed-SKU pallet building/layer pick productivity
Maintains continuous workflow
Activates pneumatic controls from the driver compartment
Efficiently processes completed (rainbow) pallets
Streamlines mixed-SKU pallet building for high-volume, fast-turn inventory
Pairs with any layer pick attachment

Lane Design
To set up your layer-picking aisle for maximum success, position several inbound lanes of pallet flow heading to the layer-pick aisle and a few outbound lanes equipped with the Ergo Build pallet separator for mixed-SKU pallet building. Depending on your volume and processing needs, you can use one or both sides of the pick aisle. The inbound lanes feed full pallet inventory to the picker. The reverse lanes allow completed rainbow pallets to flow away from the pick area to a takeaway aisle.

The Ergo Build is a three-part, semi-automated tool.

Part 1 – Pneumatic pop-up pallet separator built into the outbound flow lane

Part 2 – Control button conveniently located inside the driver’s compartment of the forklift

Part 3 – Light pedestal that tells the forklift operator he is within the predetermined zone of the outbound lane to release the completed pallet. This prevents the accidental release of pallets.

Ergo Build separators hold the empty pallet at the pick aisle for building. Once completed, the driver simply activates the pneumatic separator to release the pallet. The rainbow pallet flows away from the pick aisle to be collected by the next available forklift… meanwhile your layer pick operation continues! No stopping, no waiting, just continuous operations.

Failsafe Protections
Ergo Build comes with pedestal units that shine red or green to assure the operator that it is safe (or not) to release the pallet. The light will not turn green unless the forklift is within a predetermined zone near the outbound lane. This feature helps prevent accidental release.

Pallet separators like the Ergo Build facilitate more efficient operations and improve warehouse safety by isolating the pallet at the pick aisle –whether you’re building on that pallet or picking from it.

In an outbound lane, the Ergo Build safely secures the pallet in position vs. sitting on a warehouse floor where it is subject to shifting or interference by other equipment. Then, with a simple button press, the completed pallet flows away from the layer pick activity to be picked up. This minimizes congestion and possible safety concerns for the layer pick operator and other warehouse workers. It also prevents a worker from removing an incomplete pallet order accidentally.

In an inbound flow lane, we install the layer-pick separator (LP-400) to isolate the pick aisle pallet to allow the large clamp attachment to surround the pallet and extract one or more layers at a time. The flow lane is ideal vs. floor stacking because it automatically feeds new inventory to the pick aisle every time the empty pallet is removed from the lane –continuous operation.

Now It’s Your Turn — Let’s Build A Rainbow!
More efficient order processing is what layer picking is all about, but with the patent-pending Ergo Build and pallet flow, that efficiency is optimized to reach greater potential –without sacrificing warehouse safety.
