Making a Dyneema Synthetic Winch Extension/Tow Rope for 4x4, Boating, Sailing. Step by Step Process

Static extension lines made with synthetic rope are lightweight, strong, and extremely versatile in off road recovery. They can be used to extend a winch line, tow a vehicle, anchor to a tree, and can be used with a pulley.

In this video, I make a 25' extension line using Dyneema rope. I show how to form eyelets on both ends with Brummel lock splices and demonstrate recommended methods for creating the taper and bury to minimize loss to break strength. Video includes step-by-step process and measurements.
