VLOG 139: Corriganville Park & Movie Ranch (Simi Valley, CA)

This week we're heading to a wonderful park in Simi Valley, California...join me at Corriganville Park.

In 1938 actor and stuntman Ray "Crash" Corrigan purchased land in Simi Valley to create at western themed movie ranch. Multiple movie sets were built, including a man-made lake with an underwater bunker, soundstage, barn, ranch, schoolhouse, and church. Over 3,000 movies, T.V. shows and commercials were filmed here over 3 decades. Unfortunately multiple fires destroyed all of the film structures in the 1970s, but you can still see the foundations as you roam the grounds.

In 1988 the city of Simi Valley purchased the land for use as a city park. Now there are 4 unique trails to explore as you enjoy the local plant life, sand stone formations, and old movie sights.
