Dual Trolling Motors With Wireless Controllers Used As Thrusters

In this video, I illustrate how I configured dual 12V 30 lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motors with independent wireless controllers as thrusters on a kayak. The wireless controllers acted in a similar manner as an RC tank set up. The trolling motors also performed as directional or differential steering for the kayak. A rudder could be added when used in that configuration to assist in steering. The kayak also reached a speed of 5MPH which was 1MPH greater than 2 previous tests using different brands and sizes of trolling motors.
I used the wireless controlled trolling motors because I had already had built them in previous projects. You could save money and time by using 2 wired servo tester remotes instead. You could also mount the 2 servos into one remote control box for easier use.
