2023 Cinematic Recap: at Florida

No. 5 Florida State capped a perfect 12-0 regular season with a 24-15 win at in-state rival Florida that clinched back-to-back state championships as FSU finished off a season sweep of the other "Big 3" programs in the state for the second straight year. The Seminoles completed the seventh unbeaten regular season in program history and became the fourth FSU team to reach 12-0 in a season. Florida State was led offensively by running back Trey Benson's career-high-tying three touchdowns and 95 yards on the ground. Keon Coleman's 34-yard punt return in the 4th quarter began the go-ahead drive as FSU outscored the Gators 24-3 to end the game. On defense, Jared Verse was constantly in the backfield as he registered a career-high 2.5 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and six total stops. Linebacker Kalen DeLoach ended UF's last-gasp comeback attempt by grabbing the game-sealing interception, completing a 4th quarter in which the Seminoles held Florida to minus-15 yards of total offense.
