Alpe d'Huez | Cinematic Snowboard Video | Oeloewood & Seven Cinematics Production

Many moons ago, just before the global pandemic we went on a great snowboarding adventure with a group of friends. This year, L'Alpe d'Huez was our ski resort of choice, with more than 250km of slopes, one of the largest ski resorts in the world. With an average of 300 days of sunshine a year it has rightly earned the nickname 'The Island Of Sun'. Alpe d'Huez is home to Tomorrowland's winter edition and has been climbed regularly in the Tour de France.

Our holiday was rudely interrupted when one of our friends lost his way on the slopes and tumbled down a number of avalanches. After a long and thrilling search and rescue operation in the dark he was luckily found on the edge of a very large cliff. After repelling down from a frozen waterfall the helicopter was able to retrieve him from this very difficult location. This near-death experience had left a big scar on our holiday excitement. A warning to all, the forces of nature can be very intimidating. Several stitches and a couple of weeks later he fully recovered and now we look back to a crazy experience.
